JUNE 2022: Pauline Boudry/Renate Lorenz & Tyna Adebowale

13 - 19 June 2022

For JUNE 2022, we presented a video installation by Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz and a selection of paintings by Tyna Adebowale.

Pauline Boudry & Renate Lorenz's work  - primarly installations, films, and video - focuses on revisiting practices that reference forgotten moments of queer resignification in history thorugh photography, film, or dance. The artist duo represented Switzerland at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019, and their oeuvre is part of the most prestigious museum collections, most recently Tate Modern, who recently acquired their work Salomania (2009).

Tyna Adebowale's multidisciplinary artistic practice has a strong focus on societal processes and constructions regarding gender, queerness, ostracism, community, and identity politics. With an interest in the gender fluidity in the African cultural and spiritual histories prior to colonisation, the artist reflects on contemporary Nigerian society and its diaspora, as well as its echoes in other cultures.
