My Southern Girls

Anne-lise Coste
Pauline Curnier Jardin
Lara Almarcegui
Dora Garcia

For the ART-O-RAMA presentation, Ellen de Bruijne PROJECTS wants to invite its "Southern Girls", meaning, the artists of the gallery that originate from the South. And in this specific case, in the South of France: Pauline Curnier Jardin and Anne-lise Coste, and just on the other side of the Pyrenees: Dora Garcia and Lara Almarcegui, both from Spain.
On March 8 — Women’s Day — it is needless to say, that women in the arts deserve a strong presentation and visibility in the world.
Pauline Curnier Jardin, with her sensual – female-body language in her work; Anne-lise Coste with her rebellious approach on gender issues; Dora Garcia with her indictment on exclusion of the "inadequates"; Lara Almarcegui with her work on awareness about environment and ownership of the soil: "mineral rights".
These four women create, all on their own individual way, protesting voices within their art, culminating into strong positions within the art world.
