In January 2023, the Feel Good Cooperative (a group of Rome-based sex workers, architects, and artists initated by Pauline Curnier Jardin) went to say goodbye to Benedict XVI during his funeral home in St Peter’s Basilica. The installation The Death of the Pope presents the series of prints that the members of the Cooperative made after this very special moment they lived together.
After having drawn together their daily and working life in their first workshop, the members of the Cooperative engraved on paper the images suggested by their visit to Benedict XVI in the Vatican The film The Day We Went to See Him Dead displays the visit to the Vatican step by step. The film and drawings are part of one installation, but they also exist as separate works.
